Suspects Held Over Murder of Three Police Officers in Taraba

The Taraba State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of three police officers in Donga Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects, identified as Suleman Abdullahi, 30, and Idris Kauri, 33, both from Akete Village, were apprehended following investigations into the attack on officers at Tse Kwe Tor Damisa.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, ASP Victor Mshelizah, the officers were ambushed and killed by suspected militia during the incident.
The attackers reportedly made away with the officers’ service rifles, but the police confirmed that the stolen weapons have since been recovered.
The suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The command also disclosed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices who remain at large, assuring residents of its commitment to tackling criminal activities in the state.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Morkwap Dongshal, has intensified security operations across affected areas, including Donga and Takum, with increased patrols and stakeholder engagement to enhance intelligence gathering and restore peace.
