Rufai Oseni Knocks Bayo Onanuga Over Allegations Against Peter Obi

Arise Television presenter, Rufai Oseni, has criticized the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, over his recent comments against Peter Obi. Onanuga had accused the Labour Party presidential candidate of planning to set up a parallel government ahead of the 2027 general elections. Reacting on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Rufai reminded Onanuga that his own political party, the All Progressives Congress, made similar threats in the past.

The vocal journalist pointed out that the APC explicitly threatened to form a parallel government in 2014 if the 2015 general elections were rigged by the Peoples Democratic Party. He advised government officials to respect the democratic right of opposition leaders to criticize state policies without being labelled as security threats.
