Coach Rudi Garcia

The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) has officially terminated the contract of head coach Rudi Garcia following a disappointing 2026 FIFA World Cup™ campaign. The decision was formalized during an emergency executive board meeting on Monday, ending the French tactician’s short tenure at the helm of the Red Devils.

Garcia, who was appointed to steer Belgium's transitional squad following their tactical reboot, faced intense public pressure and heavy media scrutiny after failing to guide the nation deep into the knockout rounds of the expanded tournament in North America.

"The Royal Belgian Football Association and Rudi Garcia have mutually agreed to terminate their collaboration with immediate effect. We express our sincere gratitude to Rudi and his staff for their dedication and effort, and we wish them every success in their future endeavors."
— Official RBFA Statement

While several high-profile European managers have already been linked to the vacant seat, the Belgian FA maintains that they will take their time to ensure the next appointment aligns with the country's broader football development strategy.
