Reiss Nelson Departs Arsenal After Nearly Two Decades at the Club

Arsenal have parted ways with Reiss Nelson, bringing an 18-year association with the club to a close. The 26-year-old winger has left by mutual agreement, with his contract terminated with immediate effect, making him a free agent.

Nelson rose through Arsenal's academy from a young age before earning his first professional deal in December 2016. Across 90 first-team appearances, he contributed eight goals and nine assists, and was on the books for the club's 2020 FA Cup triumph as well as Community Shield wins in 2017 and 2020.

His Arsenal career, however, was defined as much by loan spells away from the Emirates as by time at it. The Londoner spent a season in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim, had a spell at Dutch side Feyenoord, and more recently played for Fulham before finishing last season at Brentford, never quite nailing down a regular starting berth back home.

Confirming the exit, Arsenal thanked Nelson for his contribution and wished him well for the next chapter of his career. The England youth international's departure closes the book on one of the club's longest-serving academy graduates, though question marks remain over where he lands next.
