Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has revealed that his official monthly take-home salary as governor is ₦503,000. Speaking in a viral video recorded at a state event in Asaba, the state capital, the governor highlighted the income gap between political office holders and top-tier civil servants, noting that senior public officials in Delta State earn significantly higher salaries than he does.
Outlining the salary structure of top civil servants in the state public service, Governor Oborevwori explained that Permanent Secretaries earn ₦900,000 monthly, while the Head of Service receives ₦1,000,000.
“My salary is N503,000. A Permanent Secretary in Delta State earns N900,000 monthly, while the Head of Service earns N1 million. So, they earn much more than the Governor.”

The revelation comes alongside recent state welfare initiatives under his "MORE Agenda," including a 50 percent salary increase for Permanent Secretaries and the Head of Service, as well as the approval of a 13th-month salary bonus for state civil servants.
