Professor Pat Utomi, has responded firmly to statements made by New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chieftain Buba Galadima regarding the leadership of the proposed opposition mega coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections. Utomi rejected suggestions that activists and political leaders were newcomer opportunists, highlighting his five decades of consistent involvement in advocating for democratic governance and institutional reform in Nigeria.
Utomi clarified that his commitment to national rescue precedes current political alignments, emphasizing that the ongoing movement to build a unified mega party is born out of a shared necessity to save the nation rather than personal political ambition.
