“Money Spent Could Build Nigeria” — Canada-Based Nigerian Doctor Decries Huge Funds Expended on 2027 Election Campaigns

2027 general elections.

A Canada-based Nigerian medical doctor has claimed the massive financial expenditure directed toward early political mobilization for the 2027 general elections. The healthcare professional argued that the huge financial resources currently being deployed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his son, Seyi Tinubu, to build campaign structures across the country could fundamentally transform Nigeria's decaying infrastructure, healthcare, and education sectors if invested directly into national development.

“The amount of money being spent on early campaign movements for 2027 is staggering. If those enormous resources were channeled into public infrastructure, healthcare systems, and educational institutions, it could build and fix crucial parts of Nigeria.”

The medical practitioner expressed deep concern over the intense political focus on re-election strategies while millions of citizens continue to face economic hardships and rising costs of living. He noted that many skilled Nigerian professionals who relocated abroad closely monitor events back home and remain dismayed by the prioritization of high-stakes political funding over practical solutions for the country's urgent socioeconomic challenges.
