“A Cheap Product From Temu” — Babachir Lawal Mocks Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Ambition and ADC Primary

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has launched critique against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing Atiku's presidential ambition as a "cheap product". Writing in a social media statement titled "Kachalla Series Three," the former SGF criticized the ADC’s candidate selection process in Adamawa State and accused Atiku of exerting undue pressure to influence local party outcomes.
Lawal specifically condemned the replacement of Umar Suleiman—whom he described as a competent and experienced candidate who won the ADC’s Adamawa governorship primary—with Tukur Moddibo. He alleged that the candidate substitution was driven by ethnic considerations and violated the Electoral Act, the ADC Constitution, and the party’s internal guidelines, confirming that he intends to challenge the decision in court.
