Ogun Govt Confirms Foreign Nationals Among Victims in Anthony Joshua Road Accident

The Ogun State Government has confirmed that the two persons who died in a road accident involving world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua were male foreign nationals. In a statement issued by the state authorities, the government expressed condolences to the families, friends and associates of the deceased, describing the incident as a tragic loss. Officials stressed that the information released was based on preliminary findings from emergency responders and security agencies at the scene.
According to the Ogun State Government, the fatal crash occurred on Monday along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway, specifically around the Makun axis of the state. Anthony Joshua was reportedly travelling from Lagos to Sagamu in a convoy with three other individuals when the accident happened. The two foreign nationals were said to have died instantly at the scene, while other occupants of the vehicle survived.
The government disclosed that the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Livewell Mortuary in Sagamu pending further procedures. Joshua and the driver of the vehicle were rescued by security operatives attached to his convoy and taken to a hospital, where they are currently receiving medical care. No official details have yet been released on the exact cause of the crash, as investigations are ongoing.
