The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that it will not impose or “anoint” candidates for the National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections ahead of 2027.
According to the party, all aspirants interested in contesting for the legislative seats will be given a level playing field to participate in the party’s internal democratic processes when the time comes.
The party leadership emphasised that the APC remains committed to transparent primaries and internal democracy, insisting that no individual would be handpicked for elective positions.
The statement was made amid increasing political activities and consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections, with various stakeholders within the party expressing interest in different legislative positions.
