Nicki Minaj Opens Up on Facing ‘Constant Spiritual Warfare’ in the Music Industry

Nicki Minaj has opened up about her journey through the music entertainment world, characterizing her career-long struggles against industry gatekeepers as a form of relentless "spiritual warfare."
The multi-platinum artist shared these revelations during an appearance on the milestone 200th episode of The Bryce Crawford Podcast, hosted by popular Christian evangelist Bryce Crawford. Reflecting on her path, the rapper expressed deep regret that she did not fully comprehend the hidden metaphysical and corporate dimensions of Hollywood before diving headfirst into global stardom.
Minaj confessed that navigating the unspoken rules and pressures enforced by top executives made her feel vastly underprepared for the underlying reality of the business.
“It was constant spiritual warfare. I wish I kind of knew sooner that this music industry was such a spiritual experience because I felt like I brought a knife to a gunfight,” Minaj revealed.
The rapper went further to pull back the curtain on how elite executives operate behind closed doors, alleging that powerful figures at the top frequently view and treat recording artists as mere property or financial assets to be milked for profit. She asserted that those who refuse to bow down to industry manipulation or compromise their personal values often find themselves targeted for corporate sabotage.
What are your thoughts on Nicki Minaj’s take on the music industry? Do you believe major entertainment structures place too much spiritual and psychological pressure on independent-minded artists? Please share your comments below!
