BREAKING NEWS: Akpabio Denies Collapse And Hospitalisation Claims

Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has dismissed circulating reports that he collapsed and was hospitalised in London, calling the claims false and untrue. According to a statement from his office, the widely shared narrative that he fainted and was hurried abroad for treatment is a lie and not factual. His denial directly counters the online posts alleging he had a medical emergency serious enough to require treatment overseas.

The denials emerged after rumours spread on social media and some news outlets that Akpabio had missed key official duties in Nigeria because he was receiving care abroad following a collapse. Supporters and aides alike have pushed back on these claims, emphasising that the reports are misleading and should not be taken as accurate reflections of his health status.

At the centre of the speculation was the allegation that Akpabio was flown out of the country after reportedly collapsing earlier this month. However, his team’s response makes clear that these accounts are not based on verified information, and he has not confirmed any such medical evacuation or hospitalisation.

While another report suggested he was receiving treatment in London, the official denial seeks to reassure Nigerians that the collapse story is unfounded and should be disregarded.
