A coalition of community leaders, professionals and business figures from Abia North Senatorial District has publicly endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term ahead of the 2027 elections, pointing to what they described as noticeable progress across key sectors in the state.
The group, which says it operates independently of political interests, met in Abiriba, Ohafia Local Government Area, to discuss sustaining governance reforms beyond the current administration.
Speaking on behalf of the gathering, former Abia State Government Secretary, Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa, stated that participants were united by a desire to preserve what they see as improved governance standards rather than pursue political appointments or personal benefits.
Attendees highlighted developments in areas including infrastructure, healthcare, education, security and economic activity. Some business leaders also linked recent road improvements in parts of Abia North to increased investment and business confidence.
The group further announced plans to encourage voter registration and support candidates aligned with maintaining the administration’s policy direction at both state and national levels.
