The Federal Government has praised Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, for strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the state following the graduation of about 3,000 trainees from nine vocational enterprise institutes and centres.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Education, where the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, described the initiative as a significant step toward equipping young Nigerians with practical and employable skills.
According to the ministry, the graduates were provided starter packs and a ₦100,000 entrepreneurship grant each to support their transition into productive economic activities.
The minister noted that the programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, which prioritises youth empowerment and economic inclusion through skills development.
He added that the Federal Government is implementing a nationwide TVET initiative aimed at providing about 250,000 training opportunities for Nigerian youths, with over 180,000 already undergoing training across centres in the country.
