“You’re Afraid Because By 12 Noon You’ll Be Defeated” — ADC Fires Back at Tinubu Government Over Abubakar Malami’s Judicial Persecution

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has strongly condemned the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government, accusing the administration of using state security agencies and judicial machinery to intimidate key opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections. Rebuffing the recent legal actions taken against former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami, the opposition party declared that the ruling party is acting out of fear, asserting that the administration would suffer an overwhelming defeat before 12 noon on election day if a free and fair contest were held today.

The sharp rebuke comes amidst escalating legal troubles for Malami and his family over alleged conspiracy and money laundering charges, which the ADC insists are part of a broader strategy of selective justice designed to cripple and neutralize formidable opposition voices ahead of 2027.

"You are simply afraid because you know that in a free and fair election in 2027, by 12 noon you will be soundly defeated. The intimidation of opposition figures like Malami through targeted investigations will not save this administration from the verdict of Nigerians."
African Democratic Congress (ADC) Spokesperson

While the Federal Government and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) maintain that all ongoing prosecutions are strictly evidence-based and free of political interference, the opposition continues to view the legal battles as an early opening salvo for the 2027 presidential race.

What are your thoughts on the ADC's claim that the Tinubu administration is using judicial cases against leaders like Malami out of fear for the 2027 elections? Drop your comments below!
