In a heartfelt moment at the premiere of movie Warlord, actress Wumi Toriola publicly apologized to veteran actor Afeez Owo — kneeling before him on stage as a sign of humility and reconciliation.

The reconciliation comes after a social media feud triggered by remarks Afeez Owo made in a podcast interview. He had compared Wumi’s on-screen persona and personality to that of his wife, actress Mide Martins — suggesting that Wumi was more fiery in real life. Wumi responded angrily, calling Owo a “shameless old man,” which escalated the tensions and drew heavy public criticism.

Their feud caused a stir across the Nollywood community, with many fans and colleagues calling for peace and professional courtesy. Eventually, Wumi acknowledged the backlash, posting a message calling herself “a repentant child,” signalling a willingness to reconcile.

At the premiere, Wumi approached Afeez, knelt, and said: “I’m sorry, sir. Please forgive me.” He accepted the apology and embraced her. The moment was met with cheers from the audience and widespread praise online, with many commending both for showing humility and putting the feud behind them.

Do you see this reconciliation as a meaningful sign of maturity — or do you think it’s just a PR move? Share your thoughts in the comments.
