Willingness and Obedience Part 2
Isaiah 1:19–20: If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
We examined the word OBEDIENCE yesterday; hence it is important to closely examine the word WILLING today. Being willing to do a thing is being in agreement with that thing. Willingness is giving consent to a particular thing. In today’s study, we are discussing willingness of an individual to agree with a law or laws of the Universe. When you are willing, you are in agreement. Willingness positions you to swim with the tide of the Universe. It puts the wind behind you. It is the most basic thing for any individual who wants to reap the benefits of the laws of the Universe while obedience is submissive compliance. To obey is to submit and comply.
It will be impossible for anyone to truly benefit from the laws of the Universe until there is agreement with these laws. The laws cannot be of any good to you until you have subscribed to them. Only after you have consented to the (laws) requirements can you truly be aligned with them. Willingness shows agreement, believe and trust. This is why it is the first step towards alignment with the laws of the Universe. But willingness alone is not enough. If all you do is to agree with the laws of the Universe or you only agree with the formula to attain a particular thing, then you are only a dreamer. You won’t reap the benefits of the laws of Universe by just agreeing with them. More is required. You need to be obedient to these laws.
Ben stressed that the law of Perpetual Increase requires an individual to use whatever he or she already has to grow and increase. This means using your talents and assets to grow and attain more life. To submit and comply with this law means you have to step out of your comfort zone. You have to invest and risk your resources. Only by doing this can you truly grow. No matter how many rules we make for ourselves, rules don’t create godly relationships.
Wise Saying
God will never force you to do what you are unwilling to do.
