Bible passage

Willingness and Obedience Part 1

God’s commands are designed to guide you to life’s very best. You will not obey Him, if you do not believe Him and trust Him. You cannot believe Him if you do not love Him. You cannot love Him unless you know Him. – Henry Blackaby

The Psalmist said in Psalm 119:34 – Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Believers should never negotiate their way out of doing what God mandated them to do, one of which is SOUL WINNING.

Isaiah 1:19-20: If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. There is no alternative to full OBEDIENCE as far as God is concerned; the Bible says obedience is better than sacrifice. This fact doesn’t need too much explaining, as it speaks for itself.

The fact is that for the law of a country, institution, or organisation to be effective, it must be obeyed. These are human laws. They require obedience of man to be effective. This is not so with the Universal Laws.

The laws of the Universe do not care one bit if you obey it or not. It will still be applied to you. This is simply because disobedience of one law automatically means obedience to another law. And whichever one you obey, that you shall reap the benefits of. If you disobey the Law of Prosperity, you are automatically obeying the Law of Lack and Poverty.

This verse (Isaiah 1:20) is simply making you aware that non-adherence to the laws of the Universe will result in swift punishment. Because, in essence, by disobeying, you are complying with the laws of the things you do not want. If you know that God loves you, you should never question a directive from Him. It will always be right and best. When He gives you a directive, you are not to just observe it, discuss it, or debate it. You are to obey it without questioning or complaining, just obey as there is no middle ground.

Wise Saying

There is no substitute for obedience.

Bible passage

There are many things we often say YES to in life hence our commitment and absolute loyalty to God must not be handled with levity. There is a programme on TLC Sky Channel called Say YES to the Dress. That is making reference to “wedding dress” which my wife and I both watch sometimes if we have the opportunity to do so.

Bible Passages

We examined the word OBEDIENCE yesterday; hence it is important to closely examine the word WILLING today. Being willing to do a thing is being in agreement with that thing. Willingness is giving consent to a particular thing. In today’s study, we are discussing willingness of an individual to agree with a law or laws of the Universe
