Grief has swept through the Nigerian film industry following the tragic passing of multi-talented Nollywood actor, filmmaker, and comedian, Adeshina Okiki Oshin, popularly known across the entertainment landscape as Janmole.
The devastating news of his sudden demise broke on Tuesday morning, June 2, 2026. According to official confirmations, the beloved Yoruba movie star tragically lost his life following a ghastly car accident.
The President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), veteran actor Bolaji Amusan (widely known as Mr. Latin), confirmed the heartbreaking incident via a public tribute shared on his official social media page.
“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace. May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen,” Mr. Latin wrote in an emotional message.
Fans who previously celebrated his recovery have expressed shock that he was taken so soon afterward, noting that he was actively posting content on his personal channels just days before the accident.
Janmole's death marks a profoundly sorrowful period for the indigenous movie industry, coming as part of a heavily distressing week that has seen Nollywood mourn three prominent losses—including the recent passing of veteran actor Fesogboye Oyewole and actor Patrick Okoye.
Tributes from colleagues, prominent filmmakers, and the wider Nigerian public have continued to pour in for the late entertainer, with many honoring his unique comedic timing, his dedication to the Yoruba cinematic arts, and his origins in the Okeho community of Oyo State.
Please drop your condolences and share your favorite memories of Janmole's comedy movies in the comments below.
