Thai police have arrested three women allegedly involved in a romance scam network connected to a group of Nigerians that defrauded victims of over six billion baht (₦170 billion).
The suspects — identified as Jutharat, Janjira, and Jiraphan — were arrested in different provinces, including Chachoengsao and Yala. Authorities said they helped the syndicate by recruiting people to open bank accounts used to receive fraudulent funds, earning commissions on each transaction.
The group reportedly lured victims through fake online relationships and has been active since 2019. Police said investigations are ongoing, while the suspects have denied all charges.
