"Senseless and Distractive": Osun PDP ALGON Blasts APC Chairmen Over Local Government Protest

The Osun State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has strongly condemned a recent protest organized by local government chairmen belonging to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The PDP-led ALGON described the demonstration as a "senseless and distractive" attempt to destabilize the state’s administration.

The PDP ALGON leaders argued that the APC chairmen, whose tenure and legality have been subjects of intense judicial and political debate, are merely seeking relevance through "orchestrated chaos." The statement urged the protesters to respect the rule of law and the directives of the state government rather than engaging in activities that could incite public unrest.

The PDP wing further asserted that the current administration is focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the grassroots, which they claim was neglected during the previous era. They called on the security agencies to remain vigilant and ensure that political protests do not degenerate into violence or the destruction of public property.
