SDP’s Adewole Adebayo Promises to Publish Ministerial List and Portfolios Prior to Swearing-In If Elected

The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 elections, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has made a bold political commitment, pledging to publicly unveil his cabinet ministerial list and assign specific portfolios ahead of his swearing-in day if elected president.
Speaking on national political reforms and governance accountability, Adebayo argued that the traditional practice of keeping ministerial nominees secret until after inauguration fosters unnecessary lobbying, political horse-trading, and ministerial incompetence.

By releasing the complete cabinet lineup beforehand, he noted that citizens, civil society organizations, and the legislature would have adequate time to scrutinize nominees based on competence and track record.

“When we are elected, we will not wait until after swearing-in to start searching for ministers or engaging in political horse-trading... The Nigerian people deserve to know who is managing critical ministries before they take the oath of office, ensuring total transparency from day one.”
