The cabinet of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has been hit by resignations, with the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo, Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning, Simeon Adegbola Oyeleke, and OYSIEC member Falana tendering their official resignation letters.
The resignations, which were formally submitted on Monday, November 2, 2026, take immediate effect. While Commissioner Ojo and Falana expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve without detailing specific motives, Oyeleke explicitly cited an unconducive working environment that hindered his ability to effectively pursue and fulfill the political aspirations of his constituency within the administration.
• Officials Departing: Hon. Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo (Commissioner for Budget & Economic Planning), Hon. Simeon Adegbola Oyeleke (Special Adviser on Budget & Economic Planning), and Falana (Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission board member).
“In my resignation letter, I noted that the working environment had become unconducive to effectively pursuing and fulfilling my people's aspirations... Despite my decision to leave, I thank Governor Makinde for the opportunity to contribute to the administration’s development programmes.”
