Real Madrid Dismiss Reports of Plans to Appoint Sporting Director

Spanish football giants Real Madrid have firmly denied reports suggesting they are considering appointing a sporting director as part of a restructuring plan.
Speculation had emerged from Spanish media, particularly a report aired on the “El Larguero” programme, claiming that the club’s hierarchy was exploring changes to its administrative structure, including the introduction of a sporting director role.
However, in a swift response, Real Madrid issued an official statement describing the reports as “completely untrue” and reaffirming confidence in their current management structure.
The club emphasised that its existing system has delivered one of the most successful periods in its history, highlighting multiple major trophies, including six UEFA Champions League titles within a decade.
Real Madrid’s structure currently operates without a traditional sporting director, with key responsibilities shared among top executives and technical figures under the leadership of club president Florentino Pérez.
The rumours surfaced amid scrutiny over the club’s recent performances and concerns about a potentially trophyless season, which had fuelled discussions around possible organisational changes.
Despite this, the club maintains that no such restructuring is being considered, signalling continuity in its football operations and leadership approach.
