Poco Lee, UK Case, Update, Hearing Date, Charges

Nigerian dancer and socialite Iweh Odinaka, widely known as Poco Lee, is facing serious criminal charges in the United Kingdom, London's Snaresbrook Crown Court has confirmed to PUNCH Online.

According to the court, he has been charged with attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. A reporting restriction remains in place to protect the complainant's identity, in line with UK sexual offences law. The court says the case is listed for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 15 September 2026, though the exact courtroom and time won't be confirmed until the day before.

News of his detention first surfaced through a Nigerian community figure in the UK, who said Poco Lee was being held on remand awaiting the hearing. This followed his appearance in London earlier in August at a high-profile music event alongside singer Davido.

Poco Lee's management has pushed back against public speculation, insisting the allegations are unproven and shouldn't be treated as fact until the courts rule. They've also dismissed circulating claims about drink spiking, clarifying these form no part of the official charges. Several friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry have publicly voiced support for him while the case proceeds.

It's worth stressing: no conviction has been made, and Poco Lee remains legally presumed innocent until the trial concludes.

In an age of instant social media reactions, how do we balance the public's right to discuss high-profile allegations with an accused person's right to a fair, unprejudiced trial?
Where do you draw the line between public interest and trial by social media?
