Ayra Starr Cracks Billboard Top 5 With New Album "Starrgirl"

Nigerian star Ayra Starr, born Sarah Aderibigbe, has landed at Number 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart with her new record, Starrgirl, a strong showing just two weeks after release.

The chart, which ranks the best-selling world music albums in the US, places her behind three K-pop acts: Stray Kids at Number 1, followed by CORTIS and ATEEZ. South Africa's Tyla rounds out the top five just below her.

Starrgirl dropped on 14 August via Mavin Records and Republic Records, marking Ayra Starr's third studio album after 19 & Dangerous (2021) and The Year I Turned 21 (2024). The 16-track project boasts a heavyweight guest list, pulling in Wizkid, Rema, Zayn and several other international names.

Beyond the US, the album is making waves globally, cracking the UK's R&B Albums and Album Downloads charts, appearing on France's SNEP chart, and claiming the top spot on Nigeria's Spotify album chart alongside multiple Apple Music Number 1s worldwide.
