The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has called for stronger collaboration between government institutions and the private sector to improve Nigeria’s business environment and attract more investment into the country.

The Director-General of PEBEC, Zahra Mustapha Audu, made the appeal during the third Existing Foreign Direct Investors Roundtable held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to a statement issued by the PEBEC Secretariat, the roundtable brought together senior government officials and foreign investors already operating in Nigeria to discuss practical ways of strengthening the country’s investment climate.

Speaking at the opening session, Audu emphasised the need for continuous engagement with investors and coordinated implementation of reforms across government institutions to address challenges affecting business operations in Nigeria.

She described existing foreign investors as critical partners in Nigeria’s economic development, noting that their activities contribute significantly to job creation, capital investment, technology transfer and supply-chain development.

Audu also stressed that maintaining dialogue with companies already operating in the country would help the government better understand and resolve practical issues confronting investors, thereby strengthening Nigeria’s attractiveness as an investment destination.

The engagement forms part of PEBEC’s broader efforts to improve the ease of doing business and build investor confidence in Nigeria’s economy.
