Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has called on Nigerians, especially residents of Kwara State, to stay calm and hopeful following recent terror attacks. In a post on Instagram, he described Kwara as “traditionally one of Nigeria’s most peaceful states” and expressed confidence that peace would prevail.

Awoniyi’s message came after militants stormed a church service in Eruku, Kwara State, killing three worshippers and abducting others, according to reports. He emphasized the state’s history of religious harmony, saying:

“The state of Harmony is one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria … Peace shall reign.”

He also called Kwara “a symbol of unity” and expressed his belief that its peaceful spirit would ultimately steer Nigeria toward broader national peace.

What do you think — will voices like Awoniyi’s help reassure people and promote unity in troubled times, or are stronger security interventions needed? Share your thoughts in the comments.
