The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intercepted a truck allegedly transporting stolen pipes belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC). The Commandant, Idris Bande, disclosed that officers acted on intelligence from villagers who photographed the truck and its plate number, prompting a swift interception along the Jalingo–Yola road.
Bande revealed that the truck carried over 200 pipes and that three weeks earlier, another truck with 300 NNPC pipes had been seized. He added that the NNPC depot manager confirmed the pipes’ ownership. The suspects will face prosecution after investigations conclude.
The truck driver, Adamu Ahmed, confessed that both soldiers and NSCDC officers escorted him to load the pipes, which he intended to sell in Gombe. Bande warned against vandalising or stealing government property, stressing that offenders would face the full weight of the law.
