‘I Spent ₦100m, You Can’t Dump Me’ — Aggrieved Aspirant, Dagogo Drags APC to Court

An aggrieved governorship aspirant in Rivers State, Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, has dragged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to court following his sudden disqualification from the party’s primary screening process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dagogo, a high-profile politician and former member of the House of Representatives, is fiercely challenging the APC Screening Committee's decision, describing it as an unlawful, arbitrary, and undemocratic attempt to push him out of the race. Expressing his deep frustration, the lawmaker revealed that he had already heavily invested financially into the process, including shelling out a staggering ₦100 million for the party's expression of interest and nomination forms alone.
The politician argued that he met all statutory guidelines laid down by both the 1999 Constitution and the APC’s internal guidelines, making his disqualification entirely unjustifiable.
“You cannot collect ₦100 million from me for nomination and expression of interest forms, let me go through the rigorous processes, and then suddenly dump me on frivolous grounds. It is unacceptable, and we will test the law on this,” Dagogo asserted through his legal team.
In the lawsuit filed before the Federal High Court, Dagogo is seeking an order to restrain the APC from proceeding with the Rivers State governorship primary election unless he is fully cleared and reinstated as a valid aspirant on the ballot. He is also asking the court to nullify any screening report that declared him ineligible.
What do you think about Farah Dagogo's legal action against the APC? Should political parties have the final say on screening out candidates, or is he justified in fighting for his ₦100 million investment? Please drop your comments below!
