Rap sensation Cardi B has gone live on Instagram to put a group of thieves on notice after they allegedly stole her American Express card and embarked on a high-end shopping binge. During the livestream, the Grammy winner revealed that her wallet was snatched a few days prior, but the culprits didn't stop at just taking the physical card—they immediately hit major retailers to burn through her credit.
According to Cardi, the thieves managed to rack up a staggering $40,000 in designer gear at Saks Fifth Avenue and another $20,000 on gadgets at an Apple Store before she was able to freeze the account. She claimed the group even attempted to withdraw cash at a Chase Bank location. However, the bold criminals may have underestimated the security and surveillance attached to such high-profile accounts.
Cardi B made it clear that she is already several steps ahead of them. “I got clear pictures of you all in Saks and in Apple,” she warned, stating that the high-resolution security footage has already been obtained. Emphasizing her zero-tolerance policy for financial betrayal, she told her millions of followers, “One thing about me is that I don’t play with my money... You all are going to jail.”
While the police investigation is presumably ongoing, the rapper seems confident that it is only a matter of time before the "shopping spree" ends in a prison cell.
Do you think the thieves were bold or just uninformed to use a global superstar's card at places with such high security? Share your comments below!
