Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted popular American internet streamer Kai Cenat at the Lagos House in Marina on Wednesday, marking the star’s second trip to the Nigerian city this year.
Cenat, who is widely followed on platforms like Twitch and YouTube, met with the governor in a courtesy visit during which he shared some of his experiences from his stay in Lagos. According to Jubril A. Gawat, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, the streamer is in the state to pursue and follow up on projects aimed at benefiting young people and children in Lagos.
Officials did not disclose full details of Cenat’s planned activities or itinerary, but it was noted that the visit continues a recent trend of high-profile international creators engaging with Nigerian audiences and local initiatives — following another American streamer’s trip to Lagos in recent weeks.
Cenat’s presence has generated social media buzz, especially among young Nigerians who closely follow his work and the philanthropic ambitions he has previously announced for the country.
