Abia State Governor Alex Otti has announced that he will completely retire from active politics at the end of his tenure as governor, firmly ruling out any future ambition to contest for a seat in the Nigerian Senate.
He spoke during a media chat broadcast live from the Government House in Umuahia,clarifying his long-term political trajectory, dismissing the common practice among former Nigerian governors of seeking election to the National Assembly after leaving executive office. Otti emphasized that his entry into public service was driven strictly by a desire to bring good governance to Abia State rather than a quest for lifelong political office.
