The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched its 2025 Ember Months Campaign in Kebbi State with the theme, “Take Responsibility for Your Safety: Stop Distracted Driving.”
Speaking at the event in Birnin Kebbi, the Sector Commander, Mrs Rukayya Zakaria, said the campaign aims to curb road crashes during the busy travel season. She identified speeding, driver fatigue, overloading, and use of mobile phones while driving as major causes of accidents.
Zakaria said the FRSC will intensify enforcement, conduct free vehicle checks, and hold public sensitisation programmes across major highways.
She urged motorists to obey traffic rules and take personal responsibility for their safety during and beyond the ember months.
