Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun was seen weeping as she bid farewell to her late mother during the burial ceremony held on March 7, according to a video shared online.

The actress had earlier announced the burial arrangements for her mother, Gloria Williams, through a post on her Instagram page, expressing gratitude to those who supported her after the loss.

According to the schedule released by the family, the funeral rites included a wake-keep on Friday, followed by lying-in-state and interment on Saturday, while a Thanksgiving Mass was planned for Sunday at St. Monica Catholic Church.

Balogun noted that the ceremonies were private and strictly by invitation, limited to close friends and relatives, adding that a later date would be announced for a larger public burial ceremony.

Last month, the actress announced the death of her mother, describing her as her “cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend and gist partner.”

The emotional moment captured in the video shows Balogun overcome with grief as family members and sympathisers gathered to pay their final respects.
