“Distracting the Global Community” — Oyo APC Knocks Governor Seyi Makinde Over 2027 Presidential Ambition

Seyi Makinde

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a scathing attack on Governor Seyi Makinde, dismissing his reported 2027 presidential ambition as a mere political charade designed to seek attention and distract the public.
In a statement released by the party's Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the opposition party declared that Governor Makinde lacks the political structure, experience, and strategy necessary to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming general election.

“It is important for us to reiterate that Governor Makinde does not possess the wherewithal to slug it out with President Bola Tinubu in 2027, but he is only out to make some noise and distract the global community. Unfortunately, he cannot achieve his aim of emerging as the Political Comedian of the Year without wasting the resources of the Pacesetter State.”
— Olawale Sadare, Oyo APC Publicity Secretary

The APC further cautioned the governor against allegedly issuing threats to traditional rulers and religious leaders who accommodate opposition figures in their palaces. Warning that all state resources allegedly deployed towards promoting Makinde's presidential billboards and campaign activities across Oyo and Bauchi states would be tracked, the party vowed to ensure accountability and demand a full refund of state funds wasted on a "failed political journey".
