Dangote Refinery Reports Surge in Daily Petrol Loading
Omoyeni Olabode

The Dangote Refinery has announced a significant increase in its daily petrol distribution, revealing that over 1,000 trucks now load petrol from the facility every day. The refinery, one of the largest in Africa, stated that this surge reflects its operational stability and growing contribution to addressing Nigeria’s fuel supply challenges. Officials said the refinery continues to meet domestic demand while also planning for potential export opportunities in the future.
According to a spokesperson for the refinery, the increase in truck loading represents a consistent scaling up of operations since the facility became fully operational. The refinery’s management noted that logistical enhancements, improved storage capacity, and coordinated distribution networks have allowed more trucks to access petrol efficiently, reducing bottlenecks and enhancing nationwide fuel availability.
The Dangote Refinery, strategically located in Lagos State, has been central to Nigeria’s effort to reduce dependence on imported petroleum products. Industry analysts suggest that this level of daily distribution could significantly ease fuel scarcity issues in urban and rural areas, strengthen local supply chains, and reduce the prevalence of long queues at filling stations. The refinery also continues to implement safety and quality control measures to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
