The Governor described their passing as a painful loss not just to their immediate family, but to the entire Anambra community. In a statement released by his media team, Soludo offered his heartfelt condolences and prayed for the family to find the strength to bear such an unbearable tragedy.
The two brothers were reportedly trapped inside their residence when the fire broke out during the night, making it impossible for them to escape. Witnesses at the scene tried to help, but the intensity of the flames hindered rescue efforts until it was too late. The loss of two siblings in a single event has left their hometown in Anambra in a state of mourning, as they were known for their hard work and ambition.
Governor Soludo noted that it is particularly heartbreaking to lose young citizens who were in the prime of their lives and contributing to the economy. He urged Nigerians living in various parts of the country to always be cautious and prioritize safety in their living and business environments. The Governor also reached out to the Lagos State Government to ensure that a proper investigation is conducted to determine the actual cause of the fire. He emphasized that every life is precious and that the government will continue to support its citizens wherever they may reside.
The family of the deceased is currently making arrangements to bring the bodies of the two brothers back home for burial. Many friends and relatives have visited their family house to pay their respects, describing the duo as inseparable and kind hearted. As the community prepares for the final funeral rites, the story of Ugochukwu and Chigozie continues to draw sympathy from people across the nation.
