Christian Louboutin x Otis Carey: A Fusion of Indigenous Artistry and High Fashion
Omoyeni Olabode

For its Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, Christian Louboutin has embarked on a groundbreaking collaboration with Otis Carey, the Gumbaynggirr artist and professional surfer, redefining luxury through a cultural lens. The partnership centers on Louboutin’s iconic *‘Miss Z’* line, now infused with Carey’s bold, ocean-inspired motifs that pay homage to his Indigenous Australian heritage. Expect limited-edition pumps, boots, and handbags adorned with Carey’s signature wave patterns and dot-work symbolism—all rendered in Louboutin’s signature crimson palette with abalone-shell embellishments.
This collection marks Louboutin’s first collaboration with an Indigenous Australian creator, blending Parisian craftsmanship with 65,000-year-old artistic traditions. Carey’s designs, which often explore themes of environmental stewardship, appear on vegan leather alternatives—a sustainability first for the brand. The campaign, shot on Australia’s Bondi Beach, features Carey surfing in custom Louboutin wetsuit boots, challenging conventions of where high fashion belongs.
