Chaos as Thugs Invade ADC Secretariat Opening in Bakassi, Cross River
Omoyeni Olabode

Suspected political thugs on Saturday disrupted the opening ceremony of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secretariat in Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State, causing tension and chaos at the venue.
According to reports, the attackers stormed the event venue and disrupted the programme organised by the party to inaugurate the new secretariat. The incident forced participants and party supporters to flee for safety as the situation escalated.
Witnesses said the assailants vandalised property and damaged some equipment set up for the ceremony, halting the event before it could be completed.
Party members condemned the attack, describing it as an attempt to intimidate opposition supporters and undermine democratic activities in the state.
The ADC leadership called on security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. They also urged authorities to guarantee the safety of political gatherings and protect the rights of citizens to participate freely in democratic processes.
