Carrick Plays Down Scholes’ Criticism Before Aston Villa Showdown

Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick has brushed aside criticism from former teammate Paul Scholes as the club prepares for a crucial Premier League clash against Aston Villa.
Scholes had taken to Instagram to make a sarcastic comment about United’s recent performances, saying Carrick “has definitely got something special about him” because the team had been poor in their last four matches.
Despite the remarks, Carrick appeared unfazed, choosing to focus on his team’s preparation for the upcoming match rather than engaging with the criticism.
Manchester United currently sit third in the Premier League table and are set to host Villa after suffering a 2–1 defeat to Newcastle United earlier in the month.
With Villa level on points but behind on goal difference, the encounter is expected to play a major role in the race for Champions League qualification next season.
