Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have successfully foiled an attempted infiltration by fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State.

According to reports, the terrorists attempted to infiltrate Bitta in Sector 1 of the operational theatre, but troops intercepted and repelled the attack, dealing a significant setback to the insurgent group.

Military sources said the troops responded swiftly to the threat, preventing the insurgents from gaining access to the area and maintaining control of the location. The operation was part of ongoing efforts by the military to counter terrorist activities in Nigeria’s North-East.

Security forces have continued to intensify operations against insurgent groups operating in the region as part of broader strategies aimed at restoring stability and protecting communities affected by years of insurgency.

The latest development shows the continued vigilance of Nigerian troops in confronting terrorist threats and preventing attacks on communities and strategic locations in Borno and surrounding areas.
