Angel Reese to Make History as First Professional Athlete on Victoria’s Secret Runway

WNBA star Angel Reese is slated to become the first professional athlete to walk in the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York on October 15, as she debuts as a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
Reese, who made headlines in 2024 by attending the show in a standout red crochet dress, expressed her excitement: “I literally could not stop smiling!” She described the opportunity as a surreal, full-circle moment, having gone from fan to participant.
She drew parallels between training for basketball and preparing for the runway, noting that it's “all about confidence.” Reese plans to bring her signature tunnel walk energy to the show but admits to internal jitters amid the spectacle.
Victoria’s Secret has confirmed Reese’s participation alongside models like Lily Aldridge, Adriana Lima, Alex Consani, Anok Yai, and Joan Smalls, with musical performances by Missy Elliott, Karol G, Madison Beer, and K-pop group TWICE.
Reese’s groundbreaking inclusion signals a deeper blending of sports, fashion and culture, extending representation and redefining what it means to take the stage. She hopes her appearance inspires more women and girls to pursue multidimensional paths.
