Air Chief, Precision Strikes

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has directed all Air Component Commanders involved in ongoing operations nationwide to step up precision air strikes against terrorists, insurgents, and armed criminal groups.

A statement by Air Force spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said Aneke summoned top operational commanders from conflict zones across the country, including Zamfara forests, the Niger Delta riverine areas, and the North-East.

Aneke told the commanders to “fly smarter and strike harder,” emphasising the need for intelligence-driven missions, joint operations with ground and maritime forces, and coordinated action to deliver decisive results.

He reaffirmed that the Air Force will continue to work closely with sister services and security agencies to eliminate security threats and protect civilians.

The Air Chief assured personnel of improved welfare, better equipment and training, saying the era of under-resourced operations was over.

“We will apply decisive force with professionalism and humanity. Nigerians expect nothing less,” he said.

Aneke, appointed in October 2025, has prioritised proactive air operations and stronger intelligence integration in the fight against terrorism and violent crime.
