Adebayo Clinches Victory at 2026 Ogun Women Run, Bags ₦500,000 Prize

Rashidat Adebayo emerged winner of the 2026 Ogun Women Run, a 5km race held in Abeokuta, after finishing with a time of 30:15.61.
The women-focused race, organised by Brussel Sports Management Limited, attracted about 1,000 participants and was designed to promote fitness, wellness, and women’s empowerment.
Adebayo secured first place ahead of Adiat Alawode, who finished second in 31:09.46, while Oluwanifemi Akoni came third with a time of 31:18.65.
For her victory, Adebayo received a cash prize of ₦500,000, while Alawode and Akoni earned ₦300,000 and ₦200,000 respectively.
The race commenced at Sapon and ended at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, drawing commendation from organisers for its smooth execution and impressive turnout.
Speaking after the event, the Managing Director of Brussel Sports Management Limited, Yetunde Johnson, expressed satisfaction with the organisation and praised stakeholders, including the Ogun State Government and sponsors, for their support.
Dignitaries at the event also lauded the initiative, describing it as a significant platform for promoting unity, strength, and active lifestyles among women in the state.
The Ogun Women Run continues to grow in scale and impact, reinforcing its role as a key sporting and wellness event in the state.
