Veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji and several other movie stars have come under intense scrutiny and harsh criticism on social media after leading a solidarity rally in Abuja in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The demonstration, organized by a political group known as the Re-elect Tinubu For Inclusive Nigeria (RTIFN) movement, marched under the prominent slogan, “Relax, Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria.” The event followed a major corporate medical outreach program in the Federal Capital Territory that provided free consultations, treatments, and prescription medications to hundreds of low-income residents.

Speaking to journalists during the event, Zack Orji—who serves as the Deputy Director-General of the RTIFN movement—praised the Tinubu administration’s infrastructure achievements and structural reforms. He urged Nigerians to remain patient and support the President’s national renewal agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Our armed forces are making progress, and the foundations for economic recovery are being laid. We are asking Nigerians to support this administration because the President is systematically fixing the core issues plaguing this nation,” Orji asserted.

Despite the group's message of hope and infrastructure development, viral videos and photos from the Abuja march quickly triggered a massive wave of public anger on platforms like X (formerly Twitter). Critics sharply accused the participating celebrities of being out of touch with reality, pointing out that millions of Nigerians are currently grappling with severe inflation, rising security threats, and fuel prices hovering around ₦1,200 per liter.

What are your thoughts on Nollywood celebrities leading political rallies for the government amid the current economic situation? Do you think public figures should stay out of political campaigns, or are they simply exercising their rights? Please share your comments below!
