Kachikwu Slams Fubara

Dumebi Kachikwu, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Republic (ADC), has criticized Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State for the ongoing political turmoil in the state. Speaking on the deep-seated rift between the Governor and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, Kachikwu argued that Fubara cannot claim ignorance of Wike’s personality or political style. He noted that since Fubara served as the Accountant General under Wike, he "knew Wike before now" and should have been better prepared to manage the relationship with his former boss and political godfather.

Kachikwu expressed disappointment that the crisis has been allowed to escalate to a point where it is threatening the stability of the entire state. He slammed the Governor for failing to find a diplomatic way to handle the transition of power, suggesting that a more experienced leader would have navigated the "godfather-son" dynamic without letting it explode into public warfare. According to Kachikwu, the primary victims of this power struggle are the citizens of Rivers State, who are being denied focused governance while their leaders engage in a bitter battle for control.

The ADC chieftain also cautioned that the constant fighting between the executive and the pro-Wike lawmakers in the House of Assembly is a distraction that serves no one. He urged both parties to prioritize the interests of the people over their personal political egos.

Do you agree with Kachikwu that Governor Fubara is to blame for failing to "manage" his relationship with Wike? Tell us what you think in the comments.
