Renowned Islamic Scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Dies at 102 — Bauchi and Nigeria Mourn

Leading Islamic cleric and head of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood in Nigeria, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has passed away. He died in the early hours of Thursday, 27 November 2025, at the age of 102.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State described the death as a national loss, highlighting Sheikh Bauchi’s decades-long commitment to Islamic scholarship, peace-building, and spiritual mentorship. The late cleric was revered for his deep knowledge of the Qur’an and Hadith, and for nurturing thousands of students across Nigeria and beyond.
To honour his legacy, the Bauchi State government has declared Friday, 28 November 2025, as a public holiday to enable believers, students, and sympathizers to attend his funeral prayer at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
