Prince Andrew Urged to Step Back from Public Life Amid New Allegations

Prince Andrew is facing mounting pressure to withdraw from public life following explosive claims in Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl. The book alleges that Andrew considered it his “birthright” to have sex with Giuffre and that his team attempted to hire “internet trolls” to harass her.
Tory MP Robert Jenrick called for Andrew to “take himself off to live in private,” citing repeated embarrassment to the royal family and public frustration over taxpayer-funded support. Meanwhile, the Scottish National Party has tabled a parliamentary motion to formally strip him of his dukedom, a process that would require an Act of Parliament.
The Prime Minister’s office has declined to comment on the proposed legislation or Andrew’s continued residence at Royal Lodge, noting that the lease was commercially negotiated by the Crown Estate and previously reviewed by the National Audit Office.
Giuffre’s memoir also recounts the infamous 2011 photograph of Andrew with Jeffrey Epstein, describing her shock at his public association with the convicted sex offender. Calls are growing for the Metropolitan Police and the Independent Office for Police Conduct to revisit the allegations, as the royal family faces intensified scrutiny over Andrew’s conduct and accountability.
Public and political pressure is expected to shape the Duke of York’s next steps in the coming weeks.
