Trump's Genocide Allegations

The Office of the National Security Adviser and Nigeria’s security chiefs are scheduled to brief the media on Monday following U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent allegation of genocide against Christians in Nigeria.

Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, Lanre Issa-Onilu, said the briefing would address Trump’s claims and update the public on government efforts to tackle insecurity.

Trump, in a post on Truth Social, accused Nigeria of allowing the killing of Christians and threatened U.S. military intervention. President Bola Tinubu dismissed the claims, reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to religious freedom and national unity.

Tinubu described the genocide allegation as “inaccurate” and stressed that Nigeria remains a secular democracy upholding constitutional guarantees for all faiths.
